In January 2010, after losing
90 pounds, Bill Townsend and
Siene pause for a celebratory
photo

Bill Townsend starting working with Siene in July of 2009 and is thrilled with his results - 90 pounds lost in six months. "I was pretty much out of shape, 314 pounds, and sedentary," Bill says. After two months of training and overhauling his diet, the weight started to come off. Bill is now down to 224 pounds. He finished a 3.1 mile, 5 K walk in October 2009. The 13.1 mile Carlsbad Half Marathon is his next challenge.

Bill's biggest success is that he has stayed dedicated to exercise and nutrition. "I have energy I didn't have before," Bill said. "You truly get what you put into it. I'm proving I can do stuff I didn't think I could do. People will come up to me in the gym and say 'you're my inspiration.' I'm just not used to that. It makes me feel good that I can now inspire people." Thanks Siene for everything.

On January 24, 2010 Bill successfully completed his first Half-Marathon. Is a full marathon next?

Scott Rogow Triathlon photo

When I first met Scott R. of San Marcos, CA he expressed a strong interest in losing weight and becoming fit and healthy again. Not only was he weighing in at 230 lbs with a 42" waist, his cholesterol levels were much too high.

He had once been a collegiate water polo player and swimmer. However, not unlike many of us, life got in the way of his health and fitness. He had lost his inner athlete and was now ready to find it again.

Based on his history, I developed a program of healthy eating and fitness that included; a very specific diet plan, resistive weight training, cardio training and a series of corrective exercises along with stretching. Over time Scott was able to increase the intensity of his exercise program as his conditioning level improved.

In just 5 months Scott had dropped 55 lbs, with a waist of 32". He increased his overall muscle mass by almost 10%, increasing his strength dramatically. In addition, Scott was able to drop his cholesterol back down to a normal healthy range.

We will all be cheering for you Scott!! Keep making us proud!!!

Scott's accomplishments have not only had a positive impact on his life, but have also motivated others around him to start a fitness program that is right for them. I would say he has reawakened his inner athlete!! Now after completing a few sprint distance triathlons he currently has his eyes set on a half Ironman in the spring of 2010.

Letter of Recommendation - Bryant Howard

A Testimonial from Bryant Howard, MA Curriculum & Instruction, Performance Multisport, Portland, OR...

I wholeheartedly recommend Siene Silva. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Siene over the years and have been impressed by her passion, sensitivity to others and innovative perspectives.

Siene Silva is first and foremost a motivator with a strong work ethic. I have witnessed her one-on-one fitness work with a wide range of physical and athletic abilities and have been very impressed with her ability to help people define their own fitness goals while guiding them towards success. Siene has helped many people, who might never have perceived of themselves as athletic, to achieve such things as fitness transformations and their first Marathons. Siene is flexible and supportive for the people she trains.

Siene Silva is an organizer. Siene organized and implemented The Personal Evolution Program, otherwise known as PEP. PEP ventures to guide clients through a 12 week training program that teaches every aspect of a healthy and balanced fitness lifestyle with the intention of improving the quality of people's lives. Her successes from the PEP Program as well as one-on-one training are numerous.

Siene Silva is active and motivated. Competitive in triathlon and marathons, Siene shows that she lives by her own teaching. Siene is very enthusiastic about working with people of all ages. She inspires countless people to reexamine their own perceived limits.

In Bill Townsend's own words concerning Siene Silva...

I met Siene C.Silva on March 7, 2009 and my life has not been the same since. I was grossly overweight and out of shape. I had been diagnosed as diabetic in October of 2008, I was on high blood pressure medication and had high cholesterol. I also had acid reflux that I was on med's for and was not moving very well. I had trouble walking up and down the stairs to my apartment.

Siene started by teaching me how to work out and was very encouraging. Although I was very out of shape, Siene instilled confidence in me. I found her to be very knowledgeable and professional, she worked me hard, but I knew she would never let me do anything that would let me get hurt. We worked till the end of May at which time I had lost about 12 pounds. Then she took me shopping, Siene said the weight would drop off me, let's say I was less than convinced. I shouldn't have been. She took me off commercially prepared food and taught me how to eat properly. She also started talking to me needing a goal.

I stared improving my eating. On 30 May 2009, I was at 306. I set my goal for a 5K walk and started walking in July or so while she found a 5K for us to participate in. By the end of August when I turned 53 I had lost 40 pounds. By the date of our first 5K, I was at 240 pounds, 66 pounds lost since May and 75 pounds since March. The weight had fallen off and I have kept it off.

I did my first half marathon in January of 2009, I was 218 pounds and did it in 3:31:27. Siene did a pretty darn good job for less than a year. She was one of our coaches and did training walks with me.

When I started eating properly and lost about 30 pounds several things started to happen all at once, My blood sugar came to normal numbers between 80 and 120 down from spikes in the 300s, my acid reflux went away. I gave blood at the end of September and the nurse asked if I worked out. I thought, "oh great another lecture about my high blood pressure", but she surprised me and told me my pulse was very good and healthy. And I could walk up the flight of stairs and not be winded or tired.

Through each of my stages Siene has supported me. I have never had anyone take this much interest in my well being. From working out, to taking time out of her day to take me shopping to walking races with me Siene is the nicest and most considerate person I have ever known. She goes out of her way to support me.

As I prepare for my next half Marathon I have the goal to jog from half to most of it. I know with Siene training me I will be successful.
